Sometimes, the best ideas come from the outside - folks that ask the questions that need to be asked, folks that ask the questions that others may see as irrelevant, or folks that ask the questions that others may shy away from asking. These are questions your advisory board should ask. For those of you without an advisory board - or for those of you who still want input from external thought-leaders - open your doors to the SOUP Group! Upon joining the UConn Family Business Program (or renewing), members may participate in a unique opportunity for the SOUP (Strategic Options for Upping Profitability) Group to visit with you. The SOUP Group is comprised of facilitators Jon Case and Pat Terrion - and focuses on relevant business strategy that owners, entrepreneurs, non-family executives, successors and copreneurs face. They focus on those transferrable competencies that are truly value-added - and help you to exploit them to your fullest capability. Through individual site-visits, Case & Terrion will visit your business and meet with your senior management team to develop several insights and strategies to enhance the value of the firm. Each member will receive one in-depth consultation per year and facilitators will work with you to determine an execution strategy.
